What does following mean?
Click on the green follow icon
and start following people whose music you like or want to receive updates
from. This means that youll get their updates in your profile
as well as emailed to you if you have that setting turned on in your
profile. The person whom you follow does not have to follow you
back.
Can I follow an artist or a specific album/song?
You can follow an artist, album
and song by clicking on the green follow icon. Once youre subscribed
to a user, artist, album or song you will be receiving updates whenever
another user comments or plays a track from those categories.
How do I remove people from my network?
Everything youre subscribed to is under your Favorites heading. Go to the page of the user, artist, album that you want to remove and click on Remove.
How do I comment to a user?
Click on the user avatar or
user name and youll go to their page on Bossa Live. Any comments
you make in a user page will be to that specific user. PA announcements
will be posted in the users profile, the current timeline as well
as emailed to the user.
How do I comment about a specific song that someone is listening to?
Click on the song and youll
be taken to the song page. In this page you can make direct PA
comments about a song. You can also see which users are the top
players, which album the song is on and see the artists discography
on the right in the built in Amazon store.
How do I get my songs to show up in my musical profile?
You can update your musical
profile two ways. Either download the Bossa Transponder which
will automatically update the music you play in iTunes or listen to
music in Bossa Live by either listening to individual tracks or listening
through the pop out player.
Can I add songs to my profile if I dont have iTunes?
At this point, only by listening
to songs in Bossa Live.
Can I download music from BossaLive?
For legal reasons we are only
allowing streaming of songs.
How does the Bossa Transponder work?
On a PC the Transponder works
in the background in the system tray and updates your profile on Bossa Live
with the music you play in iTunes. For the Mac, the Transponder
is a dashboard widget that activates your profile when you go to your
dashboard and starts updating Bossa Live with music you play in iTunes.
What are the technical requirements for using the Transponder?
Windows XP or Vista with iTunes.
Mac OSX with iTunes.
Which media players does the Transponder support?
Currently the Transponder works
with the number one media player currently available, iTunes.
How do I know if the Transponder is working?
On a PC a small balloon pops
out from the system tray with the song that you are updating Bossa Live
with. You can turn this on and off in the settings which will
also show you that you are connected to Bossa Live.
On a Mac youll need to go
to your dashboard and click on the Transponder widget and you can see
the songs that youve been updating as well as everyone else in the
current activity window.
How do I turn off the Transponder?
For the PC go to settings and
turn off the Transponder. To turn it back on go to Start>Programs>Start
Up and click on Transponder. Either that or the Transponder will
automatically start the next time you turn on your computer.
For the Mac you can turn off
the Transponder in the dashboard.
How come not all my tracks are uploaded with the Transponder?
We try to post the most accurate
song information possible. At minimum we need the id3 tag from
the song to show artist and song title. If either of these are
missing the song will not be updated to your profile.
Is the transponder spyware?
Absolutely not.
How do I automatically update Twitter with what Im listening to?
Go to user settings and add
your Twitter username and password. Song updates are sent to Twitter
based on how you have them ranked in iTunes. Currently only 4
and 5 star songs are automatically updated to Twitter. You can
send a Tweet manually by clicking on ctrl alt T while a song is playing
in iTunes.
How do I update my facebook status with the music Im listening to?
We use Twitter to update your
facebook status. Download the Twitter application in facebook
so that every time you tweet a song it will also be updated to your
facebook status.
How can I purchase the music that you have on BossaLive?
Almost all the music on Bossa Live
is available through our built in Amazon store or by clicking on the
iTunes link. The Amazon store on the right shows a detailed discography
and allows for listening to album tracks within Bossa Live.
What ways are there to listen to music on BossaLive?
You can listen to music on
Bossa Live through our built in audio player or through the pop out player
How come it doesnt always find the song I want to listen to?
We try to find the song you
want to listen to as an mp3 file on music blogs and other online sites.
A lot of songs are available using this method, but not all.
How do I find other users who share my taste in music?
When you check out songs that
youve played on Bossa Live you will see other top listeners of the
same song. Check out their profiles to see what else they are
listening to.
How do I find my friends on BossaLive?
You can search for a friend
by typing their name in the search box or search for them by country,
state or zip code.
How can I find my favorite artists and albums on BossaLive?
Type in the artist or album
that youre looking for in the search box at the top of the page.
What happens if Ive forgotten my password?
When you sign in, click on
forgot password and enter your email address. A new password will
be emailed to you. Once youre logged in to Bossa Live again
you can chance your password back to something memorable again.
Can I change my username or merge different accounts?
Currently, you need to contact support to do this.
How do I control who can send me messages?
You can turn off email notification
in your settings.
How do add/change my user picture?
Go to your user profile and
upload a picture that you want to use.
Im getting too many/few emails from BossaLive. What can I do?
Click on Edit Profile
in the top right of the page and add or remove email settings accordingly.
What is a widget?
A widget is micro site that
takes elements from Bossa Live and allows you to publish them on other
websites such as a blog or MySpace page.
How do I make a widget of the music I like?
Click on the link to make a
widget on your profile page and follow the instructions. You can
easily customize the widget to fit the design parameters of your blog
or MySpace page. Dont be intimidated to try making one.
Its fairly easy and very intuitive.
